Ogun Assembly Confirms SUBEB Nominees

The Ogun State House of Assembly has confirmed Governor Dapo Abiodun’s nominees for the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), following their earlier screening and a declaration of their eligibility to serve in public office.

The confirmation came after the lawmakers adopted a resolution titled H.R. No. 135/OG/2025 – Report of the Committee of the Whole on the Screening of the Nominees of the Governor for Appointment to the State Universal Basic Education Board, during plenary on Thursday.

Presided over by Speaker Oludaisi Elemide, the session saw the report presented by the Majority Leader, Hon. Yusuf Sheriff. The motion for adoption was seconded by Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye and received unanimous backing via a voice vote.

While presenting the report, Hon. Sheriff noted that the Committee conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the nominees’ curriculum vitae, credentials, and screening performance, concluding that they were fit for the appointments.

In a related development, Speaker Elemide informed the House that a zonal town hall meeting, convened by the Senate for members of state assemblies, is scheduled to hold in Lagos from Friday, 4th to Saturday, 5th July 2025.
