ADC: Rejects Aregbesola’s Appointment, Cites Lack Of Transparency - ADC National Publicity Secretary
Osun

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has urged its members to resist efforts by certain politicians to seize control of the party.

In a statement issued by Dr. Musa Isa Matara, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, in Abuja, the ADC declared that no leadership appointment is valid without approval from a constitutionally recognized ADC National Convention or National Executive Committee (NEC).

The party emphasized its support for coalitions but strongly opposes any attempts at hijacking, imposition, or deceptive rhetoric masking elitist agendas. “We stand for accountable leadership, transparent decision-making, and a people-driven party structure. Any process that sidelines the people it claims to represent is undemocratic and must be rejected,” Matara stated.

He further called on all genuine ADC stakeholders across states, zones, and demographic groups to oppose this attempted takeover. “We are not against reform or coalitions, but we reject hijacking, imposition, and revolutionary speeches that conceal elitist motives,” Matara reiterated.

He clarified that until a legitimate, constitutionally backed ADC National Convention or NEC confirms leadership changes, no individual has the authority to speak for the party nationally.
