A 21-year-old student, Christiana Olatunji, was found dead inside a gutter in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. The deceased, a student at a local higher institution and a popular social media content creator, hailed from Fehinti-Kabba in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.
According to sources, Christiana was last seen early last week at a popular lounge in Lokoja with a friend. After an extensive search by friends and security personnel, her body was discovered on Thursday in a roadside gutter.
Police have detained one of her friends, who is assisting with the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of her death. The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, confirmed the incident, stating that arrests have been made and the investigation is progressing. He assured that those responsible will face court proceedings.
