[OPINION] A Tribute to Dr. Mulikat Bola Aliyu on Her Retirement

It is with great respect and admiration that I celebrate the well-earned retirement of Alhaja Dr. Mulikat Bola Aliyu from the Federal Polytechnic Offa, where she excelled as Chief Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science and Deputy Rector (Academic).

Your journey in the academic world has been one of dedication, excellence, and impact. You have not only excelled as an administrator and lecturer but have also served as a mentor, a role model, and a pillar of wisdom to both students and colleagues. Through your years of service, you have contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, academic excellence, and moral integrity.

As Deputy Rector (Academic), you led with grace, fairness, and firm commitment to upholding standards. Your leadership was marked by your ability to balance academic rigour with compassion, always placing the interests of students and staff at heart. Your efforts to the Department of Library and Information Science as a former Head of Department have improved the department’s reputation and produced generations of alumni who are still leaders in their respective areas.

Beyond your official positions, as a previous executive member of the ODU National, you have served as an inspiration to the community. Your humility, discipline, and quiet strength have earned you the respect of many. You have carried out your responsibilities with dignity, bringing honour to your family, to the institution, ODU, and to Offa as a whole.

As you enter this new chapter of rest and reflection, I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless you with good health, peace of mind, and fulfilment. May your retirement be filled with joy, new adventures, and continued opportunities to serve humanity in new ways.

Your legacy will continue to speak for you for many years to come. Congratulations on a life of service well spent.
