As the 2025 Anambra governorship election draws near, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has officially endorsed Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for re-election, citing his impactful infrastructural initiatives and visionary leadership.
Speaking during a strategic visit to key development projects in Awka on Wednesday, June 18, NANS President, Olushola Oladoja, who is currently touring campuses across the South East, expressed strong admiration for Governor Soludo’s performance in office.
Hosted by Dr. Ossy Onuko, Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Oladoja and his team toured the newly constructed Government House and the Solution Fun City. He lauded the architectural brilliance and operational functionality of the Government House, describing it as among the most outstanding in the country.
“This is beyond impressive. What Governor Soludo has delivered here is transformative,” Oladoja stated, urging the Anambra State Government to improve its media visibility. “The extent of development happening here deserves national and international attention,” he added.
At the Solution Fun City, a flagship leisure and tourism facility built on what was once a swamp, Oladoja commended the innovation behind the project. “It reflects the governor’s far-sighted vision. If I were a registered voter in Anambra, I would not hesitate to cast my vote for Soludo. NANS is fully aligned with his re-election bid,” he declared.
Dr. Onuko, who conducted the project tour, noted that the facilities visited represented only a portion of the governor’s broader developmental impact. He disclosed that over 750 kilometres of road contracts have been awarded under Soludo’s administration, with more than 450 kilometres already completed and paved, including critical dual carriage federal roads.
“Governor Soludo is service-driven, not politically motivated,” Onuko said. “His return to serve Anambra, after advising over 20 global institutions and heading the Central Bank of Nigeria, is a testament to his commitment to purposeful governance.”
The NANS delegation concluded its visit with a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, reaffirming its support for continued youth engagement and sustainable governance in the state.
