Monarch Kicks Against Detention Of His Chiefs In Prison Custody By Amotekun

The Alaapa of Ita-Apa, Oba Alexander Kujembola, has described the continuous detention of three of his high chiefs and two residents in Ilesa Prison for combating cultism in his domain as unjust.

Speaking from his sickbed in a US hospital, Oba Kujembola expressed concern over the arrest of the chiefs by an Amotekun squad, a local security outfit in Osun state.

He stated that efforts to bail the chiefs have been unsuccessful, alleging political interference in the matter.

He calls on the government not to politicize the security of his people, referencing the heinous attacks on his people by alleged members of deadly fraternities in the community.

Oba Kujembola noted that those arrested by Amotekun were volunteer members of the local security watch preventing the return of dislodged criminals from the Ita-Apa community.
