The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade I, at his palace in Oyo Town.

The visit was disclosed through a Facebook post by Ajísebí Ọ̀yọ́ Radio, which featured photographs from the high-profile meeting between the revered cleric and the traditional ruler.

A caption accompanying the images, written in Yoruba, read: “Alaafin of Yorubaland, Iku Baba Yeye, received Daddy G.O., Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, today in the city of Oyo.”

One of the photographs captured the moment Pastor Adeboye offered prayers for the monarch. He was accompanied by his son, Pastor Leke Adeboye, alongside other senior clergy members of the RCCG.

This visit comes on the heels of Pastor Adeboye’s recent revelation during the June edition of the RCCG Holy Ghost Service, themed “Destined for Greatness (Part 2),” held at midnight on Saturday, June 7, at Redemption City in Ogun State.

During his sermon, the cleric recounted a divine warning he received from God, indicating that his firstborn would die if he ever left the RCCG. He emphasised the critical importance of divine guidance and steadfastness in one’s spiritual journey.

Pastor Adeboye also expressed concern over a growing trend among young Christians, whom he described as frequently moving from one church to another and regularly identifying as first-time attendees.
