[PHOTOS] Police Officer, Historian, Teacher, Entrepreneurs Celebrated At MIO 4.0

The 4th edition of the Made in Offa (MIO) Awards turned the spotlight on community champions across diverse sectors, as a police officer, a renowned historian, an outstanding teacher, and leading entrepreneurs were celebrated for their excellence and contributions to Offa’s development.

In a ceremony filled with applause and tributes, Inspector Musa Usman received the Special Recognition Award for his exceptional commitment to public safety.

He’s described as a dedicated police officer known for his integrity and consistent service.

Equally honoured was Dr. Lawal Toyin Muhammad, a highly respected historian and academic, who was inducted into the MIO Hall of Fame.

Dr. Lawal’s life work through preserving Offa’s history, educating generations of students, and contributing to national scholarship was praised as a lasting legacy that continues to shape cultural awareness and pride in Offa. His induction marked a symbolic moment that bridged Offa’s past with its present aspirations.

In the education sector, Mr. Mudashir Kazeem Abolaji, a teacher at Offa Grammar School (OGS), was named Best Teacher of the Year. He’s also given a 150,000 cash reward.

The organisers said it’s a testament to his dedication to academic excellence and character building. His recognition stood out as a celebration of the tireless efforts of educators who continue to inspire and guide students toward success, often against the odds.

The awards also recognised dozens of young and emerging entrepreneurs across more than 25 categories. Among the winners were Fola Juice and Parfait, named Entrepreneur of the Year; Offa TV, awarded Best Online TV; Ara Empire, recognised as Best Spa; and QD Leather Brand, celebrated as Best Shoe Designer. These recognitions reflected the innovation, creativity, and resilience of Offa’s vibrant small business community.

Speaking at the event, the Convener of the MIO Initiative, Mr. Balogun Ayodeji Kingfahd, stated that the awards are not just about rewarding achievement, but about strengthening the social and economic fabric of Offa by celebrating those who contribute meaningfully to its growth.

“From our classrooms to our streets, from business hubs to cultural archives, these honourees represent the soul of Offa,” he said.

With each edition, the Made in Offa Awards continue to evolve as a platform for uniting and uplifting the community by showcasing stories of dedication, brilliance, and local impact across every sector.
