Professor Pat Utomi has voiced deep frustration over what he described as efforts to silence him, revealing he is considering leaving Nigeria.
Utomi, who recently unveiled plans for a shadow government, has come under scrutiny from the Department of State Services (DSS), which has filed a suit against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja. In the suit, the DSS is asking the court to declare the shadow government “constitutional.”
Speaking on Wednesday, Utomi said he was increasingly disillusioned and might relocate to Ghana.
“I’m getting fed up with all of this. If they want to shut down my voice, I’m ready to go to Ghana or anywhere else and live in peace,” he said.
He added that he plans to retire next year and step back from political engagement, noting his desire to find a better environment for future generations.
“I’m looking for a better country for the next generation. But politicians seem to treat any form of dissent as a threat.
“My goal is to inspire young people to be free and to pursue progress. The future is in their hands now.
“This generation must realise there are forces working against the growth of their country,” he said.
