President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and patient with the ongoing economic reforms under his administration, assuring the nation that “the toughest days are behind us.”
In his message to commemorate the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Tinubu acknowledged the hardships many Nigerians have faced but maintained that the reforms are beginning to yield positive results.

I extend warm greetings and congratulations to Nigerian Muslims and the entire Muslim Ummah worldwide as we mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
Eid-el-Kabir, which crowns the sacred first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, is a period rich in spiritual opportunity—a time to reflect, give thanks to Almighty Allah, and commit ourselves anew to lives of worship and good deeds.
Beyond the festivities, Eid calls us to embody the virtues of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness. It reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) unwavering submission to Allah and the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This sacred moment invites us to recommit to those ideals in our personal lives and as a nation.
It is also a time to reflect on our collective duty to be resilient, tolerant, compassionate, and devoted to building a better Nigeria.
I reaffirm my dedication to these values and express my deep gratitude for the patience and perseverance Nigerians have shown in the face of change. The reforms we embarked upon have not been without difficulty, but they are beginning to bear fruit.
Though the journey has been tough and doubts have surfaced, the commitment of our leaders in both the public and private sectors—supported by the resilience of everyday Nigerians—is turning the tide. I assure you that the most difficult days are now behind us.
We are entering a new phase of renewed hope and prosperity, as promised. While we are not yet where we wish to be, we are moving steadily in the right direction. Key economic indicators are improving, and soon, the benefits will become more evident in people’s daily lives.
These reforms are not just about improving statistics. They aim to reshape lives, create opportunities, and build a Nigeria rooted in sustainable development. Though there are no quick fixes, we are focused on laying solid economic foundations for long-term growth and well-being.

I also take this moment to reflect on recent tragedies in our nation—especially the devastating flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, on May 28. The disaster claimed lives, destroyed property, and left many in distress. We mourn with the affected families and communities, and I urge all Nigerians to support relief efforts and pray for the victims.
As we observe this holy occasion, let us also remember and pray for our security personnel who continue to risk their lives to protect us. Let us pray for our leaders, for peace in our country, and for harmony in a world marked by turmoil and uncertainty.
May those who are blessed share with those in need, extending kindness and solidarity as one united people. Let the values of sacrifice, faith, perseverance, and shared humanity bind us closer together.
