A fire outbreak has destroyed properties worth millions of naira at a residential building in Ile-Labe Abepe Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday, affected eight rooms in the building. Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maruf Akinwande, confirmed the incident, noting that the emergency call was received at 14:10 hrs, and a fire tanker with five personnel was dispatched immediately.
Firefighters swiftly contained the blaze, preventing further damage. No lives were lost, and properties worth millions of naira were salvaged.
Akinwande attributed the fire to an unattended cooking gas that ignited nearby combustibles. He urged residents to prioritize safety when handling domestic gas and other flammable materials.
