
A resident of Yolde Pate in the Yola South Local Government Area, Abubakar Abdulsalam, has been remanded in prison custody following allegations of sexually abusing three children. The accused, whose age was not immediately disclosed, is facing charges related to the alleged defilement of a 12-year-old boy and two girls, aged eight and ten.
The accusations, which reportedly occurred at separate times last month within the Yolde Pate community, were brought before Chief Magistrate Court II in Yola.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) presented by the prosecuting Police Inspector, Ibrahim Aliyu, Abdulsalam has been charged with defilement and unnatural offense, contravening sections 263 and 211 of the Adamawa State Penal Code Law 2018.
The court has ordered Abdulsalam to be held at a correctional centre in Yola while the investigation continues. Further details regarding the case are expected to emerge as the legal process unfolds.
