The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has initiated an urgent review of the 2025 UTME results following widespread complaints from candidates across Nigeria.
The announcement was made by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, on Monday via the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. According to the Board, the review is a response to an unusually high volume of complaints concerning discrepancies in candidates’ UTME scores.
JAMB, which officially released the 2025 UTME results last Friday, stated that it is expediting its annual system review—a process traditionally conducted months after the examination. This comprehensive review covers three main stages: UTME registration, examination conduct, and result release. The Board also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring all candidates who experienced technical issues during the exam are given another opportunity to retake it.
JAMB noted that the majority of complaints have emerged from specific states, prompting a detailed investigation. To ensure transparency and accuracy, the Board has enlisted the expertise of key stakeholders, including the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners from tertiary institutions, the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, and Vice Chancellors from various universities.
If the review uncovers any technical glitches or errors in the 2025 UTME results, JAMB assured it would swiftly implement corrective measures to uphold the integrity of the examination process.
