The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has thrown its full weight behind Governor Umar Namadi, endorsing him as the party’s sole gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was formally announced during a high-level citizens’ engagement forum held in Guri Local Government Area. The event brought together key party leaders, lawmakers, and community stakeholders to review the administration’s achievements and gather grassroots feedback.
Addressing attendees, party chieftain and former House of Representatives Minority Leader, Hon. Faruk Adamu Aliyu, declared the endorsement unanimous. He called on party faithful to rally behind Governor Namadi, stressing that all APC members of the House of Representatives present at the forum had backed the resolution.
“This endorsement is a clear reflection of our shared confidence in Governor Namadi’s leadership,” Aliyu stated. “His administration has delivered meaningful development, and we believe continuity is essential to sustain this progress.”
The decision comes amid rising political momentum ahead of the 2027 polls and is seen as a strategic move to strengthen internal party cohesion and ensure policy continuity.
NEWS BULLETIN recalls that eight aspirants contested the APC governorship ticket in 2023, making this early endorsement a notable show of party unity and direction.
