Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has paid tribute to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, describing him as one of Nigeria’s finest leaders fifteen years after his passing.

Yar’Adua, who died in office on May 5, 2010, was remembered by Saraki for his quiet strength, humility, and unwavering commitment to public service.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Saraki reflected on the former president’s enduring legacy.

“Fifteen years on, Nigeria still mourns one of its finest — and I still remember a friend whose quiet wisdom helped shape my understanding of service,” Saraki said.

“President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua led with conviction, not commotion. He listened more than he spoke — and when he did speak, it was with purpose, not politics.”

He added that Yar’Adua’s life remains a powerful reminder that true leadership is rooted in humility, duty, and justice.

“His legacy reminds us that leadership is not about power, but about duty, humility, and justice.

“May Almighty Allah (SWT) continue to grant him a place among the righteous in Al Jannah Firdaus. Ameen,” Saraki concluded.
