During the weekend, I made an unpronounced visitation to my ward (Sawo South East) in commemoration of my first year anniversary as Principal Personal Assistant to the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru. It was an opportunity to discuss various issues of national interest, political activities both within and outside the state. Also, the meeting offered me an avenue to rollout some of the dividends of democracy facilitated to my ward through my amiable principal, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru.
These includes but not limited to the following:
1. Provision and installation of 30 units of 1000WT solar street light to Saba, Sakosi, Oloya and Elemosho’s Compound.
2. Resuscitation of motorized borehole for Oloya/Sakosi/Saba
3. Provision of empowerment tools for 20 people across the ward. Among the tools distributed are industrial sewing machines, deep freezer for petty traders, Laptop computers, wheel chairs for people with disabilities, grinding machines among others.
4. Upgrade and modernization of idi-ogun motor park with provision of solar street lights.
5. Cash support of #300,000 for my ward chairman, Prince Kehinde Omogoye Keji including opportunity to supply materials (laterite) for road construction project by Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru.
6. Federal employment opportunity for selected youths ( NPF & UITH)
7. Distribution of foods for about 500 people
8. 2 tricycle machines as empowerment for unemployed graduates.
9. Training and grant for selected women and out of school youths
10. Provision of materials, financial and moral support for the emergence of APC flag bearers, Hon. Sulaiman Olatunji and Hon. Isiak Olohun Ni as the chairman and councilor for Sawo South East ward respectively during the September 2024 council election among others.
Finally, my principal, Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru has graciously included the construction of road and concrete drainages linking Saba/Sakosi/Oloya/Enla/Asaba/IleAbu/Beleore axis of Sawo South/East ward in the approved 2025 budget by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The aforementioned road from Saba/Sakosi junction -to-Beleore junction is not only blessed with potential for booming commercial zone but a direct gate way linking Sawo district with Essa district.
Furthermore, I made a pledge of more solar street lights to Ofe-aran, Baale gogo, Lasogan, Sawo and Oluwe’s axis of the ward. Additional people will be shortlisted next month for another round of empowerment . (Inshallah)
APPRECIATION
To whom much is given, much is equally expected. I wish to generously appreciate Most Distinguished Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, the Deputy Senate Leader who is my principal, leader, father and mentor for the opportunity extended to me to serve in the capacity of Principal Personal Assistant—a tripod for all the dividends of democracy facilitated for my good people of Sawo South East Ward.
