The Dan Iya Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Engr Sulyman Bolakale Kawu, has expressed profound grief over the sudden demise of Barrister Sulyman Abaya, describing the late legal practitioner as a “burning community light” whose untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of many.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin, Dan Iya paid glowing tribute to the late Abaya, whom he described as a brilliant mind, a selfless giver, and a passionate advocate for communal growth.
“Barrister Sulyman Abaya was not just a promising lawyer; he was a young man with an old soul, deeply connected to his roots and tirelessly committed to the upliftment of his people. He lived a short but impactful life, devoting his time, resources, and intellect to causes that uplifted others,” the statement read.
According to the traditional titleholder, Abaya’s death is not only a personal loss to his family and friends but a monumental blow to the entire Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
“He represented hope for a new generation, a bridge between tradition and modern excellence. His humility, intelligence, and compassion will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Dan Iya prayed for Almighty Allah’s mercy upon the soul of the deceased, asking that he be granted Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
