The Kogi State Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious deaths of a man and a woman in the Ankpa Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased, identified as Sheriff Salifu and Blessing Adama, were both residents of Ankpa. According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, it remains unclear whether the two were in a relationship, but their bodies were discovered naked in a room, raising suspicions about the nature of their deaths.
Describing the incident as “sudden and unnatural,” Aya confirmed that a full investigation is underway to determine the cause.
He explained that the matter was first reported by Salisu Ibrahim, a resident of Alo in Ankpa, who told the police around noon that his tenant, Sheriff Salifu, had not emerged from his room as usual that morning.
“At about 9:31 a.m., Salifu had not come out as he normally would, prompting concern. His brother eventually gained access to the room through the ceiling, where he found both Salifu and Blessing lifeless,” Aya stated.
