Former Osun State Governor and ex-Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is not in France to meet with President Bola Tinubu, contrary to a claim circulating on social media.
A statement released on Tuesday by Aregbesola’s media adviser, Sola Fasure, firmly denied the report, describing it as “completely false and misleading.”
Fasure clarified that Aregbesola remains in Abuja and has not travelled outside Nigeria.
“Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous report in the social media claiming that the former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, is currently in France to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement read.
“We wish to categorically state that this is false and there is no truth to it absolutely. Ogbeni Aregbesola is presently in Abuja and has not travelled outside the shores of Nigeria. The report is entirely false and unfounded and should therefore be totally disregarded,” it added.
