
A disturbing case has emerged from Kodomun village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, where police have arrested a local herbalist, Murtala Musa, over the alleged ritual killing of an 11-year-old boy, Yangapwa David.
The incident, reported to authorities on Sunday, April 13, 2025, by the Village Head of Kodomun and the victim’s mother, Fancy Alifas, has sent shockwaves through the community.
According to the mother, her son had been taken to the herbalist for treatment but tragically died under suspicious circumstances while in his custody. The situation worsened when, upon returning to retrieve her son’s body, she discovered that his left eye had been removed.
Police operatives from the Demsa Division swiftly responded to the report and arrested the suspect at the scene.
In a statement, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, vowed that the Command would ensure justice is served.
“We will leave no stone unturned in our investigation. The suspect is in custody, and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has been directed to carry out a discreet and thorough investigation,” he said.
The police have urged the public to remain calm, assuring transparency and diligence in uncovering the truth behind the tragic incident.
