Dr. Kunle Adeniji, Prince Akinropo Adesiyan, his wife, and one of their sons were kidnapped at the residence of Prince Akinropo Adesiyan in late January 2025.
As they were being taken to the kidnappers’ hideout, Prince Adesiyan’s wife could not walk at the kidnappers’ pace. She was killed in front of Dr. Kunle Adeniji (Kongo), her husband, and their son.
Dr. Adeniji could not withstand the shock of the killing, as it deeply affected him due to his closeness to the Adesiyan family.
Just two hours after the woman was killed, Dr. Kunle Adeniji’s health deteriorated, and in the process, he gave up the ghost.
At the time, nobody knew what had happened, as the kidnappers were still negotiating with those calling to secure their release.
Mr. Ademola Wasiu (Double Dee) and Mr. Olusola Olajire (Solar) took it upon themselves to rally support and solicit funds.
Efforts were made by kind and compassionate individuals to raise funds when the kidnappers demanded an outrageous amount of money.
Indeed, people responded positively, and negotiations continued.
Throughout the process, the kidnappers communicated via Prince Akinropo Adesiyan’s phone.
When it was time to deliver the ransom, Mr. Ademola Wasiu (Double Dee) was among those who went. On their way, many opted out, saying they could no longer proceed. However, driven by patriotism and family bonds, he insisted that it would be a great tragedy to return the money without reaching the kidnappers’ location, as the money could be stolen.
He summoned courage and proceeded alone to the kidnappers’ den. Upon meeting them, they claimed the money was incomplete. In fact, they threatened to hold him hostage as well, but he told them, “If you do that, how will you get the balance, as we are still struggling to raise the rest?”
He pleaded to see those who had been kidnapped, and they assured him that everyone was alive and fine.
They even told him that the money brought was not enough to cover their needs, as the drugs and food they were providing for the victims were costly.
When the captives were eventually released, we were all happy—only to be taken aback by the absence of Dr. Kunle Adeniji among them. We later heard that he had died the same day Mrs. Adesiyan was killed.
This is truly devastating.
HEARTBREAKING NEWS:
I just left Prince Akinropo Adesiyan at the hospital, where he shared with me that Hon. Adekunle Adeniji (Kongo) passed away two hours after his wife was tragically killed. The shock from her death is believed to have caused his passing.
This is a devastating and tragic loss for us all.
