River State House of Assembly

Lawmakers in the Rivers State House of Assembly aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have indefinitely suspended their legislative sessions.

According to News Bulletin, the decision was made during a plenary session led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule.

As reported by News Bulletin, this development comes just hours after Governor Siminalayi Fubara scheduled Wednesday for the re-presentation of the 2025 budget.

The governor’s decision follows a recent Supreme Court ruling requiring him to recognize the pro-Wike lawmakers.
