Engr. Maruf Olalekan Ajenifuja, the Technical Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, has facilitated the allocation and release of critical agro-inputs to the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Offa LG chapter of Kwara State.

Engr. Ajenifuja, who also serves as the President of Offa Engineers, played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful distribution of the agricultural resources.

The items distributed include 20 units of water pumps, 150 litres of herbicides, 100 litres of pesticides, 100 litres of organic growth enhancers, and 50 knapsack sprayers, among other essential farming tools.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, aimed at improving Nigeria’s food security situation and supporting smallholder farmers across the country.

The distribution of these agro-inputs is expected to significantly enhance agricultural productivity, boost the livelihoods of farmers, and make agricultural products more accessible and affordable in local markets.

The Offa Descendants Union (ODU) has lauded the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will positively impact the agricultural sector in the region.

In a statement signed by Comrade Taofeek Olalekan Olaosebikan, ODU National Public Relations Officer, dated February 27, 2025, the union commended Senator Abubakar Kyari and Engr. Ajenifuja for their commitment to improving the welfare of farmers and strengthening food security.

“The distribution of these agro-inputs is a commendable step towards improving agricultural productivity in Offa LGA. This initiative will not only boost the economy of our farmers but also ensure that agricultural products are more available and affordable in the market,” the statement read.
