…Claims Senate Leader Threatened Her Over Dispute with Akpabio

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio made romantic advances toward her as a condition for allowing her to move a motion in the Senate. She made the revelation during an interview on The Morning Show on Arise News.

According to Senator Natasha, her clashes with Akpabio began after she rejected his advances during an official visit to Akwa Ibom State in December 2023. She claimed that Akpabio invited her and her husband to tour his private residence in Uyo, where he allegedly suggested creating a space for them to have “fun.”

She further recounted an incident when she attempted to move a motion concerning Ajaokuta, a key issue for her senatorial district. She alleged that Akpabio blocked the motion and later made it clear that she would only succeed if she agreed to his terms.

Senator Natasha also recalled a controversial moment in the Senate when Akpabio warned her to “behave” because the Senate was not a nightclub. She claimed that the remark was not accidental but was tied to previous discussions where Akpabio allegedly suggested they have nightclub-style fun together.

In a separate development, Natasha accused Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele of threatening her during a late-night call, warning that if Akpabio “goes down,” she would go down with him.

The Senate has referred the dispute between Natasha and Akpabio to the Ethics and Public Petitions Committee for investigation.
