The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comr. Olushola Oladoja as its new president.

Oladoja, a postgraduate student at the University of Jos, secured victory with 300 votes in a closely contested election held at the Old Parade Ground, Abuja.

He defeated Salauhudeen Suleiman of Yakubu Gowon University (University of Abuja) and Gambo Abubakar from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State.

The convention brought together over 358 Senators (Students’ Union Government Presidents) from tertiary institutions across Nigeria. The election was conducted under the leadership of Comr. Suleiman Sariki, who served as the Convention Chairman.

Participants described the election as “free, fair, and credible.”

As the newly elected president, Oladoja is expected to champion students’ rights, advocate for quality education, and push for better welfare conditions for Nigerian students.
