During a recent visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the CBN, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to enhancing economic cooperation between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Welcoming the Saudi delegation led by Faisal bin Ibrahim Alghamdi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, Cardoso highlighted the CBN’s role in fostering partnerships across vital sectors that drive economic growth. He emphasized that both nations stand to gain significant economic benefits from increased collaboration.
“The Central Bank of Nigeria is dedicated to advancing partnerships that will strengthen economic ties with Saudi Arabia. We will actively seek out opportunities that provide tangible benefits for both countries,” Cardoso stated.
In response, Ambassador Alghamdi expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the CBN governor and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s interest in bolstering bilateral cooperation. He highlighted the kingdom’s eagerness to collaborate with Nigeria in key economic areas, particularly renewable energy, agriculture, and water initiatives.
“We are enthusiastic about deepening our relationship with Nigeria and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities that will enhance the prosperity of both nations,” Alghamdi stated.
