Renowned Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has shared details about her family’s medical challenges in 2024, revealing the hardships they endured.
In a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her 2025 birthday, Adesua reflected on the difficulties of the past year, emphasizing how they strengthened her resilience and deepened her appreciation for life.
The actress disclosed that she underwent an emergency C-section after facing life-threatening complications. She also recounted a difficult recovery process.
In the same post, Adesua revealed her struggles with illness during pregnancy and shared that her husband, singer Banky W, had to undergo surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.
“2024 really tried to take the wind out of my sails, so I’m grateful to be here celebrating my life and God’s faithfulness,” she wrote. “From battling months of hyperemesis to being hospitalized, and then finding out that my husband needed surgery while I was sick and pregnant—it was overwhelming.”
She continued, “I ended up with an emergency C-section because the devil tried it with my life AGAIN, leading to a harrowing healing process. It was a lot.”
Despite the challenges, Adesua expressed gratitude for her support system and faith, stating that the experience has strengthened her. She declared her determination to embrace new opportunities, saying, “NOW, I’m coming for everything that is mine. Nothing and nobody can stop me.”
