Residents of Doka Community in Kaduna State are urging Governor Senator Uba Sani to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Ahmed Musa, a Senior Secondary Two (SS2) student at Government Technical College, Malali.
Musa Muhammed, the victim’s father and a journalist and activist, confirmed that his son was killed on the school premises, stating that he was “brutally murdered by unknown individuals” on February 16, 2025. He described discovering Ahmed’s body in the school’s vicinity, showing clear signs of violence and strangulation. Musa has called for an exhaustive investigation to identify those responsible for his son’s tragic death.
In a formal petition to the governor titled “Urgent Appeal for Justice in the Murder of One of Our Member’s Son (Ahmed Musa) at Technical College, Malali,” the Kaduna Doka Development Association (KDDA) expressed their deep sorrow and demand for justice. The association’s chairman, Sani Rabiu Bako, emphasized the profound impact of this tragedy on both the victim’s family and the larger community.
Bako stated, “Ahmed Musa was brutally killed under situations that remain unclear, leaving his family and friends in shock and disbelief. The loss of such a promising young life is a tragedy that no family should have to endure, compelling us to seek your intervention to ensure those responsible are held accountable.”
He noted that the KDDA has continually worked to foster peace and safety within the community but acknowledged that recent events have shaken their trust in the security of their environment. Bako urged the governor to take swift action, asserting that this would restore confidence in the justice system and send a clear message against such acts of violence.
Copies of their petition were also forwarded to the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security agencies.
Bako requested, “Your Excellency, we ask that you direct the appropriate authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into this case, ensuring that the perpetrators are caught and brought to justice. We urge you to prioritize the safety and security of our citizens, particularly within educational institutions, where the lives of young people should be safeguarded.”
In addition to seeking immediate justice, the KDDA called for preventive measures to avert similar incidents in the future, including increased security presence, enhanced surveillance, and improved community policing.
Bako expressed confidence in the governor’s ability to address the matter effectively, stating, “We understand that the government faces many challenges, but with your leadership and commitment to public safety, we are hopeful this issue will be resolved swiftly.”
When approached for comment, Police Command spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan confirmed, “Yes, we are investigating the matter. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the incident.”
