The Jigawa State Police Command has underscored the critical role of financial discipline in fostering professional integrity, accountability, and prudent money management during a recent training program for Divisional Crime Officers (DCOs) held at its headquarters in Dutse.

In a presentation titled “Police Officers and Indebtedness,” the Command’s Finance Officer, CSP Jazuli Murtala, emphasized the necessity of financial stability as a cornerstone of professional integrity. He examined the legal framework governing financial conduct and discussed the causes and ramifications of debt among police officers.

CSP Murtala highlighted the significance of adhering to Section 93(a) of the Police Act and Regulations 2020 (as amended), which mandates financial discipline among officers. He urged participants to disseminate the knowledge gained during the session to their subordinates.

Moreover, he introduced the “5Ps” mantra—Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance—as a proactive strategy to combat financial mismanagement within the ranks.
