The Katsina State Hisbah Board has announced a ban on all nightclub operations throughout the state, emphasizing adherence to Islamic principles and the promotion of moral values.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Katsina, Hisbah Commander-General Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar) declared that nightclub owners are required to close their venues in order to combat immoral activities, safeguard societal values, and enhance security within the state.
“The board has warned that any offenders will face severe penalties. Security agencies have been tasked with ensuring complete compliance with this directive,” Usman stated.
“Our commitment is to foster a morally sound society and maintain peace and security in Katsina State,” he added.
Usman also revealed that the board has coordinated with relevant security agencies, including the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security, to ensure the effective enforcement of the ban.
He further stated that this action is part of Hisbah’s ongoing efforts to promote a lifestyle among residents that aligns with religious and moral standards.
