A Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt has sentenced Eze Kingsley to death by hanging after convicting him of the murder of Wagbara David.
The crime took place on December 7, 2018, at No. 4, Rumumasi Community along the East-West Road, Port Harcourt. Kingsley, a petroleum tanker conductor, faced three charges, including murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was found guilty of stabbing David with a sharp object, leading to his death, as confirmed by medical reports from the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).
The altercation reportedly started when David, a mortuary operator, asked the tanker driver to remove his vehicle from his business premises, arguing that it was obstructing his operations.
Delivering judgment, Justice Boma Diepiri ruled that the prosecution had proven the murder charge beyond reasonable doubt. He subsequently convicted Kingsley and sentenced him to death by hanging, praying for the repose of his soul.
