A new sect, known as “ACHAD Life Mission International,” has reportedly emerged in North West Nigeria, with links to human trafficking and child separation, according to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
The sect is said to have its headquarters in Kaduna, while its leader, identified only as “Mr. Yokana,” resides in Jos, Plateau State.
In a circular dated January 14, 2025, and signed by CIS A.A. Aridegbe, Principal Staff Officer to the Comptroller General of the NIS, officers were alerted to the activities of the group. The circular, titled “Emergence of a New Sect Known as ACHAD Life Mission International,” was distributed to all directorates, zones, training institutions, and commands.
An immigration source confirmed the authenticity of the intelligence, stating, “Yes, we were given the intelligence.”
According to the NIS, the sect is reportedly involved in human trafficking and child separation, while promoting beliefs that neither align with Islam nor Christianity. Instead, the group preaches the restoration of African traditions and humanitarian support.
The intelligence also indicates that ACHAD Life Mission International has been actively recruiting members both within and outside Nigeria.
The circular instructed officers to remain vigilant, stating:
“In light of the above, you are requested to stay vigilant and report immediately any sign of the sect. Where possible, arrest and revert accordingly. This is for your information and strict compliance.”
When contacted, NIS spokesman Kenneth Udo confirmed the circular, emphasizing that it was issued to alert officers about the sect’s activities.
