In its ongoing efforts to uplift local economies, the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Movement has once again extended its empowerment initiative to traders at Owode Market, Kwara State, on Friday, January 17, 2025.
A total of 320 small-scale business owners benefited from the programme, particularly those in the Onijankara (thrift cloth sellers) Phase II and Alata (pepper sellers) Phase. This follows the Phase I empowerment programme for cloth sellers, which took place in August 2024.
The initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader Empowerment Initiative, which aims to support 2,000 small businesses across Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas in Kwara State.
Leading the event at Owode Market was Mr. Oyeyemi Tajudeen, representing the MOK Foundation. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and community development.
Since its launch in November 2023, the programme has consistently worked towards supporting 5,000 business owners across the region, equipping them with financial aid and necessary resources to strengthen their enterprises.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the assistance, noting how the funds would enable them to expand their businesses, purchase more stock, and increase their income.
