
A devastating fire broke out early Wednesday, engulfing a popular hotel in the Garki area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and causing extensive damage to properties worth billions of naira.
According to a hotel staff member, the blaze started around 3 a.m. and was first reported by a guest who ran to the reception, unclothed, to alert workers about the incident.
The fire, which originated from one section of the three-story building, quickly spread to other areas, sparking panic among guests and staff.
Fire service officials have since arrived on the scene and are working to extinguish the flames.
As of the time of this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. Authorities, including fire service officials and the police, are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
