
In a recent development, the Oyo State High Court, which is sitting in Ibadan, the state capital, has granted bail to Mr. Abdullahi Fasasi, the principal of Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan; Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, the proprietor of Agidigbo FM; and Olori Naomi Silekunola, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Justice K.B. Olawoyin granted the bail on Monday, following the arguments presented by the counsels representing the trio.
According to reports by our correspondent, the bail was granted after the judge listened to the counsels’ submissions.
The trio was accused of involvement in the Ibadan stampede that led to the tragic death of at least thirty-five children on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. The incident occurred at the Islamic High School.
Initially, an Oyo State Magistrate Court in Iyaganku ordered that the trio be held at the Agodi Correctional Facility.
