The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced plans to partner with the Oyo State Government to enhance transport safety measures and prevent accidents within the state.
Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji, NSIB’s Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, revealed that as part of these efforts, the Director General of NSIB, Captain Alex Badeh Jr., along with his team, recently paid a courtesy visit to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Speaking on the visit, Oladeji explained that the meeting aimed to strengthen ties between NSIB and the Oyo State Government.
During the meeting, Captain Badeh Jr. commended Governor Makinde for his leadership and commitment to infrastructural development in Oyo State. He stressed the importance of integrating comprehensive safety measures across sectors, particularly in transportation and other high-risk industries.
He outlined NSIB’s mission and recent achievements, emphasizing the bureau’s dedication to improving safety outcomes through detailed investigations, actionable recommendations, and proactive stakeholder engagement.
“We are here today to express our admiration for your visionary leadership and to explore how we can collaborate to promote a culture of transport safety in Oyo State,” Badeh said. “NSIB is committed to ensuring that safety remains a priority in every development initiative, and by working with state governments, we can create safer environments across Nigeria.”
Governor Makinde welcomed the NSIB team and praised the bureau’s role in enhancing transport safety across the country. He expressed enthusiasm for exploring ways Oyo State could leverage NSIB’s expertise, particularly in areas involving transportation and public safety.
He reiterated his administration’s dedication to infrastructural development and improving safety standards, emphasizing the value of collaboration between federal agencies and state governments to achieve sustainable progress in safety initiatives.
