The State Chairman and leadership of the State Administrative Council (SAC) and State Executive Council (SEC) of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Osun State, have expressed profound appreciation for the successful negotiation and signing of the new Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) tables.
This milestone paves the way for the implementation of the revised salary structure starting January 2025.
In a statement issued by the union, the leadership acknowledged the unwavering support of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, whose administration they described as exemplary in prioritizing the welfare of workers and pensioners in Osun State.
The statement highlighted that the new CONHESS tables represent a landmark achievement in the history of the state, providing much-needed relief and improved welfare for health workers.
The union praised the efforts of key government officials, including the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, and the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, for their roles in facilitating the successful negotiations.
Special recognition was also given to Comrade (Dr.) Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, the Osun State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who led the negotiating team with dedication and ensured that no worker was shortchanged or deprived.
“We are immensely grateful for the vision and kindheartedness of the current administration. Workers and pensioners in Osun State have never had it this good since the creation of the state,” the statement read.
The union called on all workers and residents of Osun State to support the government, emphasizing that its outstanding successes and commitment to the welfare of the people deserve commendation and encouragement.
“We thank His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, and his team for their profound contributions to the betterment of Osun State. May the good Lord continue to guide and bless this government,” the statement concluded.
The announcement marks another significant milestone for the Adeleke administration, reinforcing its reputation as a worker-friendly government committed to improving the lives of its citizens.
