……Reaffirms Strong Partnership with University of Offa
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Image, Hon. Seyi Bamigbade, has debunked a recent statement circulated by one Mr. Owoseni Adekunle, which falsely claimed that National Image had canceled its scholarship programme with the University of Offa, Kwara State.
In a press statement issued on behalf of the organization on Friday, January 10, 2025, Hon. Bamigbade clarified that Mr. Owoseni is unknown to both National Image and the University of Offa, and he has no affiliation with either party.
He described the claims as baseless, misleading, and an attempt to tarnish the reputation of both the scholarship programme and the university.
“The National Image has over 200 students currently enrolled in the University of Offa, and we have been enjoying a mutually beneficial relationship with the institution for more than two years now. Our relationship with the University of Offa remains intact,” Hon. Bamigbade affirmed.
He further highlighted the organization’s commitment to supporting Nigerian youths through its scholarship programmes, which provide educational opportunities for underprivileged secondary school leavers.
“Our scholarship programme has been a transformative platform, enabling young Nigerians to access quality higher education while reducing their exposure to social vices,” he said.
In the same vein, the management of the University of Offa described Mr. Owoseni as a fraudulent person and has no employment or relationship with the University, hence cannot speak on behalf of the institution.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Mukaila Alimi, “the National Image Scholarship as a consortium for educational support that partners with public and private institutions to offer scholarships covering tuition fees for students with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics. The University of Offa is one of the partners. Through affiliations with universities, private polytechnics, colleges of education, and other educational consultancies, the program ensures that beneficiaries can pursue OND, HND, and degree programmes at little to no cost.
“As a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, the scholarship aims to empower Nigerian youths not only academically but also with entrepreneurial and professional skills. The programme includes industrial attachments and partnerships with professional firms, ensuring participants gain practical skills for immediate employment after graduation.
“Since its inception, the National Image Scholarship has reached hundreds of students across Nigeria, with the University of Offa standing out as one of its key partners. The organization’s commitment to elevating educational standards and creating opportunities for young minds has been a significant factor in its success,” he added.
Hon. Bamigbade subsequently reassured current and prospective beneficiaries that the scholarship programme with the University of Offa remains active and unhindered.
“We remain committed to our vision of fostering academic excellence and enhancing productivity among Nigerian youths. The partnership with the University of Offa will continue to thrive as we collectively work towards these shared goals,” he stated.
The National Image urged students and the general public to disregard the misleading information from unauthorized sources and advised all inquiries regarding its scholarship programs to be directed to its official communication channels.
