On Saturday, the South Korean parliament voted to impeach Yoon following his controversial attempt to impose martial law, a decision that astonished the country and created divisions within his party.
According to Al Jazeera, 204 members of parliament supported the impeachment, while 85 opposed it. During the ongoing investigation, Yoon is prohibited from traveling abroad.
