The Judicial Service Commission in Bauchi State has dismissed Umar Ibrahim, a Shari’ah Court Judge serving at Jalam Shari’ah Court in Dambam Local Government Area, over allegations of gross misconduct.

The chairman of the commission, Dr. Ibrahim Danjuma, confirmed the dismissal in a statement issued to reporters in Bauchi. He emphasized that the decision was in line with the commission’s commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards among judicial officers.

Dr. Danjuma explained that the judge’s actions violated the code of ethics and principles governing the judiciary, warranting his removal. He added that the commission’s actions aim to preserve public trust and confidence in the judicial system.

In a related development, the commission has introduced promotion examinations for staff members on grade level 8 and above. The exams are designed to assess their knowledge of the law, judicial processes, ethical standards, and their roles within the judiciary.
