Former senator Dino Melaye has expressed satisfaction following the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court’s decision to remand former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, in Kuje Correctional Centre.
The court, on Tuesday, ordered Bello’s detention pending the outcome of his bail application in a case involving alleged money laundering of N110 billion brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice Maryann Anenih adjourned the case for hearing on January 29 and 30, as well as February 25 and 27.
Reacting to the development on his official X account, Dino Melaye noted that he had predicted Bello’s imprisonment six years ago.
He wrote, “Six years ago, SDM predicted Yahaya Bello would end up in prison. Today, he will be spending Christmas in Kuje prison. All powers belong to God.”
