Suspected bandits launched a violent attack on Kakin Dawa village, located in Gidan Goga district, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, abducting over 50 women and girls.
According to local sources, the gunmen, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the village around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, moving from house to house.
A community member recounted the ordeal, saying, “Everyone started fleeing because the bandits have been targeting our village. Later, we discovered that more than 50 of our women, including young girls and married women, had been taken.”
He urged the federal and Zamfara State governments to intensify security efforts in the area by deploying additional military and security personnel to confront the attackers.
Attempts to reach the spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
