The Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), in collaboration with the Committee for Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), Kwara State chapter, is set to host the World Human Rights Day Lecture 2024.
This commemorative event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Hall 2, Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ajase-Ipo Road, Ilorin, beginning at 10:00 AM.
The theme for this year’s lecture is: “Equality: Reducing Inequalities and Advancing Human Rights,” with a sub-theme focusing on “Labour Rights and Industrial Actions.”
The event aims to foster discourse on bridging inequalities, promoting fairness, and safeguarding labour rights as fundamental components of human rights.
The lecture will bring together labour leaders, human rights advocates, policymakers, and civil society organizations to engage in thought-provoking discussions on the interplay between equality, labour rights, and industrial actions.
The organizing committee, co-chaired by Mrs. Olowoniyi Bukola, Assistant Director (GS-HRM), and Comrade Afolabi Lukman, Chairman of CDHR, Kwara State, extends an invitation to members of the public, especially stakeholders in the labour and human rights sectors, to participate as special guests.
This year’s lecture promises to provide actionable insights and strategies for reducing inequalities and advancing human rights, especially in the context of labour relations and industrial actions.
