The Olalomi Royal Volleyball Club (ORC) has secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Anambra Queens today in its opening match of the second phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League.
The match was held at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Speaking to newsmen, the club’s head coach, Mary Bukola Faremi, expressed pride in her team’s performance, noting their resilience and determination throughout the competition.
The participation of ORC in the league has been made possible through the sole sponsorship of QS Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, founder of the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation and principal partner of Luxiar Construction Limited. His unwavering support has provided the team with the resources needed to excel in one of Nigeria’s most prestigious volleyball competitions.
The first phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, which featured 24 teams from across the nation, took place at the same venue between August 24 and September 10, 2024.
ORC demonstrated commendable effort, earning a total of 10 points to secure their place in the second phase.
Coach Faremi commended her players for their resilience in a highly competitive league, which features some of Nigeria’s best volleyball teams, including the Nigerian Air Force and Civil Defense.
The Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League serves as a key platform for showcasing exceptional talent and advancing volleyball’s development across Nigeria.
