All Progressives Congress (APC)
In a series of landmark rulings, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Hon. Justice J.K. Omotosho, has dismissed multiple lawsuits challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in Kwara State.
In suit no. FHC/IL/CS/83/2024, filed by Bashiru Abdulwahab against the APC and two others, the court dismissed the case concerning the councillorship candidature for Ojuekun/Sarumi Ward. This decision affirms the legitimacy of the APC’s choice for the ward, bringing celebrations among party supporters.
Similarly, in another case, suit no. FHC/IL/CS/83/2024, filed by Tunde Bamidele Aluko against the APC, the court dismissed the suit challenging the APC’s chairmanship candidate for Ilorin West Local Government.
This outcome reinforces the APC’s position in the local government’s leadership structure.
In suit no. FHC/IL/CS/82/2024, filed by Abdulrasheed Zainab Omowumi, the challenge against the APC’s chairmanship candidate for Ilorin West Local Government was also thrown out, further cementing the party’s choice in the region.
Additionally, the court ruled on suit no. FHC/IL/CS/81/2024, filed by Yusuf Tajudeen Adebayo, dismissing his challenge against the APC’s chairmanship candidate for Ilorin East Local Government.
The rulings have been widely celebrated within the APC, with congratulations pouring in for the party’s candidates in Ilorin East, Ilorin West, and Ojuekun/Sarumi Ward. These decisions strengthen the APC’s position ahead of upcoming local government elections in Kwara State, ensuring their chosen candidates remain on the ballot.
