Abuja-based lawyer and human rights activist, Pelumi Jacob Olajengbesi, has announced his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 elections in Osun State.

The announcement was made via a post on his Facebook page, where he expressed confidence in his decision, citing divine guidance and the people’s support as his driving forces.

Olajengbesi, who is also a columnist and arbitrator, currently serves as the Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), a notable advocacy group in Nigeria.

Reflecting on his political aspirations, he wrote: “My people, now more than ever, I am confident that, by the grace of the Most High God, I will contest for the position of House of Representatives for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in 2027. With the power in the people’s voice, we shall prevail.”

In his post, Olajengbesi recalled his earlier foray into politics in 2019, describing it as a testament to his resilience and commitment to public service despite the challenges.

Pelumi Olajengbesi said:” In 2019, even when we seemed to stand alone, we enjoyed the blessings of the people. THIS TIME, we are coming in the full volume of the book written about us and this is the will of God. He who has seen 99, can no longer be scared of 100.”
