An unspecified number of policemen were killed this morning in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State by gunmen, with reports indicating the incident occurred around 7:30 AM in the Ebem, Asaga area. Details surrounding the tragedy remain limited, but sources suggest that the locality has been largely deserted as residents flee for safety.
This attack comes just two days after two police officers assigned to Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, a member of the House of Representatives for Isiala-Ngwa North/South Constituency, were ambushed by armed assailants in Umuahia while on official duty. That incident, which took place on Sunday around 8:30 PM, resulted in the death of one officer who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while the other officer and the driver managed to escape.
