Prime Minister Starmer emphasized the UK’s commitment to upholding the rule of law in its relationship with China during his discussions with President Xi Jinping on Monday, according to UK media reports.
“We strive for a relationship that is consistent, enduring, and respectful, aiming to minimize surprises wherever possible,” Starmer said, reaffirming the UK’s position as a “predictable, consistent, sovereign actor” during the meeting, as reported by the Press Association.
