Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has expressed strong reservations about the prospect of signing Paul Pogba, describing the Juventus and France midfielder as an “extremely talented but wasted talent.”
During an appearance on the Three Up Front podcast, Souness made his position clear, stating, “If I were a Premier League manager, there are no circumstances under which I would take a punt on bringing in Paul Pogba.” Highlighting Pogba’s limited appearances since the 2021/22 season, Souness added, “He’s only played 39 games since then. He is extremely talented, but he’s a wasted talent.”
The former Liverpool captain also reflected on Paul Pogba’s career trajectory, suggesting that his World Cup victory may have negatively influenced his motivation. “The worst thing that happened to him was winning the World Cup because, from that point on, he just sat in his armchair,” Souness remarked.
Souness concluded by cautioning Premier League clubs against signing Paul Pogba, who became a free agent following the termination of his contract with Juventus on Friday.
Pogba has since been linked with a potential move to Arsenal and other English clubs.
