Tunde Omosebi, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant in the 2023 elections, has been evicted from his Abuja residence over allegations of unpaid rent and other controversies.
A viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on November 15 captured the moment a court enforcement team, accompanied by police officers, evicted Omosebi from the high-end property in Abuja.
Reports indicate that Omosebi’s tenancy expired over four years ago, and despite repeated attempts to recover unpaid rent, he allegedly refused to vacate the premises.
In a letter dated June 30, 2022, Omosebi appeared to address the landlord’s complaints, stating his intent to terminate the lease agreement.
“Due to irreconcilable differences on your breach of agreements, we opt out of renewing our lease. This letter serves as notice to vacate your property within the allowable period,” the letter, now circulating online, reads.
Despite this, the landlord pursued legal action after Omosebi allegedly failed to leave the property.
“I had to use his letter to file for eviction. He claimed ownership of the house but never appeared in court until the final judgment,” the landlord stated.
The eviction process reportedly faced delays, with the landlord alleging that a magistrate handling the case passed away during the proceedings, and the final judge suffered the loss of a close relative.
When contacted for comments, Omosebi denied the allegations, including claims that he owned the house. “This is all fabricated,” he said.
